It’s easy to travel with younger children in South Africa. All our tours can be tailored for travel with kids. We will keep travel times in mind, and we can adapt our accommodation and activity offers to your preferences and to the ages of your children. We will also favour those reserves that offer babysitters and supervised play areas with numerous kid-friendly activities.

Days 1-4: Cape Town
Here is where it all began! Visit of the historical centre with its Victorian houses, port, and seafront. Also worth seeing is the Cape Peninsula with its penguins and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. For kids, the aquarium is a must-see!
Days 5-6: The wine route
Visit to the wine region. The Cape region is famous for its numerous wineries where you’ll have the opportunity to do tastings. The most well-known regions are Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Several wineries offer picnic lunches on their estate that are a hit with young and old alike. Some of these also have outdoor playgrounds, and tastings of grape juice and chocolate.
Mancala’s Recommendation: In season (July until end-November), we recommend that you spend at least 1 night in the Hermanus region to see the whales.
Days 7-8: On safari
Flight to Johannesburg and transfer to one of the reserves of the Northwest of Limpopo provinces. The lodges that we choose propose various activities for children, including arts and crafts, cooking courses, games...and even a mini-ranger course where they will go with their own guide into the bush to discover insects, plants, tracks and more….
Note: Children can accompany their parents on safari from the age of 6 years.
Day 9: Return to Johannesburg
Transfer to Johannesburg airport from where you’ll connect to your return flight.
