This itinerary takes you on a discovery of the highlights of Namibia, joining visits to game parks, the Sossusvlei dunes, the coast, and the incredible Fish River Canyon.

Day 1: Arrival in Windhoek

Pick up your rental car. Lodgings in a charming guest house in Windhoek, capital of Namibia.

 

Day 2: Otjiwarongo

Departure for visit to Otjiwarongo, where the Cheetah Conservation Fund is located.

 

Mancala Touch: Cheetah safari

 

Days 3-4: Etosha National Park

Head to Etosha National Park, the largest game reserve in Namibia. You’ll find abundant wildlife around waterholes and also a 5,000 km² salt pan - so large that it is visible from space!

 

Day 5: Damaraland Desert

Depart for your discovery of Damaraland, with its spectacular rock paintings, impressive granite plateaus, wildlife, and Brandberg Mountain - Namibia’s highest point.

 

Mancala Touch: Safari to spot rare desert elephants in a 4x4.

 

Days 6-7: Swakopmund

After a scenic drive through the desert, you’ll arrive at Swakopmund, a coastal retreat town in the west of Namibia.

 

Mancala Touch: Options include a cruise to spot marine life, oyster tasting on the open water, and quad biking or fat tyre biking in the dunes.

 

Days 8-9: Sossusvlei Dunes and Sesriem

Departure for the famous dunes of Sossusvlei, where you can climb “Big Daddy”, the largest dune in the world, and admire the brilliant range of colours around you! Continue your journey to Sesriem Canyon and its salt flats, of which “Death Vlei” is particularly amazing.

 

Mancala Touch: Take a hot-air balloon at dawn to admire the landscapes at their most glorious.

 

Day 10: Seaside town of Luderitz

Head out for the coastal town of Luderitz. Visit the mysterious ghost town of Kolmanskop, which is being overtaken by the Namib Desert.

 

Day 11: The wild horses of Aus

Admire vast, infinite plains and the wild horses which gracefully gallop across them.

 

Days 12-13: Fish River Canyon

Depart for the magnificent Fish River Canyon and its breathtaking scenery. 160 kms long and 27 kms wide, this is the second largest canyon in the world. The landscape will surely fill you with a sense of liberty in its immensity!

 

Day 14: Kalahari Desert

In the heart of the Kalahari Desert, you’ll be able to discover the San people, the first inhabitants of Southern Africa. Here in the semi-arid landscapes you’ll also discover an unequalled biodiversity among the red sands and colourful pastures: gemsbok, eland, wildebeest, and springbok await.

Situated between 3 countries: Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa, the Kalahari covers over 900,000 km²

 

Day 15:

Return to Windhoek for connections to Europe, starry-eyed from the last 2 weeks!
